According to Moody’s, colleges are closing or merging at an accelerated rate. Between 2004 and 2014, about eight closed per year. The estimate moving forward is 20 per year.
The most vulnerable institutions in this crisis are small private colleges. In order to survive, they must first acknowledge there’s a problem, then find strategies to fight back.
